Ariana Grande and Boyfriend Ethan Slater Show Some Sweet PDA as They Promote Wicked in Sydney
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater are keeping close as they promote Wicked in Australia.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Grande, 31, and Slater, 32, held their arms around each other and smiled as they left a photo call for their new movie Wicked in Sydney, where the film made its world premiere on Nov. 3. Slater was photographed holding his left arm around the pop star and actress’ waist, while Grande leaned her right arm over Slater’s shoulders and smiled.
The couple went Instagram official in Grande’s recent social media posts showing photos from the movie’s premiere in Australia, when she shared an image of her and Slater together among a carousel of pictures.
Grande costars in Wicked as Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba. Slater, a Broadway actor who most recently starred in the revival of Spamalot, plays Boq.

Slater made headlines during the movie’s red carpet in Sydney on Nov. 3 after a video of him agreeing to give Grande a friendship bracelet made by a fan went viral on X (formerly Twitter).
“Is it possible for you to give this to Ari for me?” the fan, identified as user @melissaapo, asked Slater, to which he replied, “I’m pretty sure she’s coming if you want [to give it to her], but I can do that! Do you want me to? Sure! Yeah, of course. I’m sure she’ll love it.”

“Omg Ari, I see it now … and if I speak-” one fan commented about Slater in a reply to the original video, while another said, “So glad yall see it now omggg.”

Grande and Slater’s romance was confirmed in July 2023, after they met on the set of Wicked. This came after Grande separated from her now-ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, and Slater separated from his now-ex-wife, Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a 2-year-old son.
Aside from Grande, Slater and Erivo, Wicked also also stars Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Marissa Bode as Nessarose, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Keala Settle as Miss Coddle, Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible.
Wicked is in theaters Nov. 22.
