To mark his first Formula One race with the Italian team, Hamilton, 40, recreated the iconic, car stealing scene from the classic 1986 movie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Sharing the clip — in which he plays the car garage attendant who steals the Ferrari that Ferris (Matthew Broderick), Cameron (Alan Ruck) have just dropped off — Hamilton revealed that creating the skit was a “dream.”

“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid,” he noted in the caption of the Instagram clip, which he shared on Wednesday, March 12.

He said that he wanted to “pay homage to the iconic film and to celebrate my first season with Ferrari,” adding that his pitch-perfect rendition of the scene — in which he told the characters to “relax” as they nervously dropped of the expensive vehicle — took “a lot of cutting-edge tech, production, and planning.”

Hamilton — who spent 12 years driving for Mercedes before making the switch to Ferrari — also gave a “shout out” to “legendary” Edward Norton for “coming along for the ride.”

Norton has a cameo in the clip as the garage attendant’s pal who joins him for a joyride once they’ve stolen the sports car.

The F1 driver concluded by revealing he wants to bring the same “energy and excitement” that he has in the skit to the track for Ferrari. “Andiamo!” he added, which means “let’s go” in Italian — a tribute to his new Italian team.

The sports star, who was dressed in a smart pinstripe suit for his big moment, added that he had “always held on to that dream of racing in red.”

He went on to note that joining the team was the start of a “new era in the history of this iconic team.”

Hamilton’s first race for Ferrari will be the Australian Grand Prix, which takes place between Friday, March 14 and Sunday, March 16.
