2024 was a year of highs and lows for ROSÉ.

The BLACKPINK member, 27, earned a massive global hit with the Bruno Mars collaboration “Apt.” and released her debut album, rosie, last year. On Jan. 7, she penned a lengthy Instagram caption about her success and the difficulties that came along with it.

“2024 for me, was the toughest and most rewarding year to date. What a crazy year it was. I got to do everything I ever wanted. Which was to work on so much music. And yes, I got to do a lot of it,” began the caption, shared alongside a series of photos from throughout the year.

ROSÉ continued, “There were so many times I thought I couldn’t get to where I wanted to be, and as much as this whole journey was not easy at all, I was blessed with and few unbelievably incredible friends along the way.”

“I can walk away from 2024 knowing that I’ve made some life long friends, learned a few INSANE! life lessons, and put out my first full length studio album – that I’m frankly quite proud of,” she said of rosie, which charted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart following its Dec. 6 release.

“Thank you to all my number ones who have been supporting and loving ‘rosie’. And thank you 2024 for being an unforgettable year. I feel as if this year is a beginning to a whole world full of fun for me. And I am so excited to have you all be a part of it,” added ROSÉ.

“Off to 2025 now! Bring it on,” she wrote, wrapping up the note. “I hope everyone had a safe and happy holidays. Love you all so so dearly. Happy new year, Rosie.”

Released Oct. 18, “Apt.” marked ROSÉ’s first major worldwide hit as a solo artist. The collaboration, which references a South Korean drinking game in its lyrics, reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and topped the publication’s Global 200 chart.

This year is shaping up to be a big one for ROSÉ, as YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk recently revealed “a highly-anticipated comeback from BLACKPINK” is imminent. “And [2025] will also be the year BLACKPINK starts their world tour,” he said in July.
